(Gentle Pathos).

I am going to go. I shall be known by the future generations, if known at all, as the Woman in the Green Dress. You will purchase three of the same sturdy dress - one a silky blue, one a thick and demure red, and one of an earthly hunter green. This is the one they will remember you by - why, I’m sure I do not know. One for land, one for sea, one for life, though they will only see the land during your life.
Save five keepsakes - abolish all the rest. Whether to a safe or to the air, it does not much matter to me. Does one have a beautiful voice if no one has heard it before? Yes, because you have. And when you are dead, you will still have heard it. And when the world is gone, you will still have heard it. And if everything ends and begins again, and back around you came - or not - you still have heard. And - and if you went back in time and had been blown deaf by life before that initial sound - you’ve still heard it. Do you see?
And if, on the first hearing there had been none to listen? What of it then? Then there may have been a voice existing, but you could not be certain. And what of its’ beauty?
As to that, you would certainly never know.
